Vaser Liposuction

The double chin is medically referred to as “submental fat”. The best way to remove fat for good, is still to suck it out in the form of double chin liposuction. Dr Chia’s preferred method for liposuction is Vaser Liposelection. Vaser’s ultrasonic technology, which emulsifies fat for more efficient removal, tightens skin at the same time, giving a more sculpted underchin contour.

There are limitations. Liposuction removes superficial fat under the chin, which is the culprit for the bulk most of the time. For some people, the double chin are mostly deep fat that lies under the neck muscle.  “Deep neck fat, also known as subplatysmal fat, is removed by surgical excision, not liposuction,” explains Dr Chia. Now this is a dream come true for many. A fat-melting injection. Lipodissolve, or Kybella, contains phosphatidylcholine (PC) and deoxycholic acid (DA), both fat-dissolving agents. Kybella is FDA-approved and proven to treat the double chin.  The recommended treatment routine is 6 sessions, 1 month apart, although many will find an improvement within 2 – 4 sessions.
